Projects

artbookfriday

As many blog projects #artbookfriday started with an idea and a single post on MuseumLifestyle. There are thousands of book blogs out there but not many of them focus on art books. Hardly any to be honest. There are some real good ones like the virtual book shelf of Josef Chladek but not at all as many as on literature and novels. So we decided this has to change immediately. Art books are special and a great medium to spread art and conserve projects from which the pieces are owned by different persons and institutions all over the world. We want to support a publishing industry which doesn’t get as much attention as it should and artists who still believe in the power of books. On the long run we want this to be an international and universal blog project others participate in. Using the hashtag #artbookfriday and spreading the idea we would love as many bloggers to present their favorite art book as possible every Friday. No matter if the blogs are in English, German, Spanish… we want this to be as international as art books are themselves. To keep track of everybody we will start a link collection of publishers we work with and bloggers who joined in on this page.

We’re very happy a lot of people on Twitter and Instagram joined us even without a blog! Every user is more than welcome to present art books with the hashtag every friday and spread the love.
