Today I want to show you some street art I discovered in Vienna, Paris and Germany. I love art works in public spaces: graffiti (no tags), murals, stickers, paste-ups, guerilla-knitting, stencils and contemporary art (like crazy things shown at documenta in Kassel or sculpture projects in Münster). My favorite art works are creative interventions with street signs. I know there are a lot more different techniques, methods and creative attempts. I had so much fun, when I found this one, yes it’s not legal, but it makes me smile. 🙂
One of my favorite artworks – seen in ParisI think everyone of you has heard the name Banksy, maybe the most famous street art artist. He treats maladministration in a creative and humoristic way. Another one is JR, I saw his gigantic artwork in Hamburg at the Millerntor Gallery (2014). Absolutely amazing! You could go to the photobox and make a selfie. This pic was printed in A0. It’s one or two years ago the American artist Shepard Fairy was in Berlin. Maybe you remember the “HOPE”-poster for Barack Obamas election campaign. Fairey created this famous artwork.

“Inside out” http://www.jr-art.net/Invader is well known for his mosaic art works. The Cover Pic is made in Paris, but you find Invader everywhere. His tiled art works are inspired by the video game Space Invaders. In every big city you will find some mosaics of this artist.
During my stay at Vienna I found some street art, I want to show you, too:
