Get ready for New York Fashion Week

This week is one of the most important for the fashion industry, it’s time for New York Fashion Week which will start in two days (September 10-17, 2015). Even if you can’t be in New York it’s exciting to wait for the new collections which will be of major influence for new trends coming up in fashion next year. Even for me being not a blind trend follower it’s pretty interesting to see what will come up next in the stores. And it also doesn’t matter if you’re able to buy the expensive brands because all labels will copy the styles of the big players presenting in New York. I still find it strange though to watch the Spring/Summer Collections 2016 in fall 2015 when I am getting the mood to buy my winter outfits but anyway it’s always good to be informed.

The organizers of Fashion Week made some major changes this year including a new location. The shows will be held at Skylight at Moynihan Station and Skylight Clarkson Sq this year which is a great decision. Moynihan Station is an awesome and unique location in New York. It will suit the Fashion Week just perfectly.

The designer list is long as usual. I can’t wait to see the shows of CARMEN MARC VALVO, DKNY, GROUND ZERO, HERVÉ LÉGER BY MAX AZRIA, JEREMY SCOTT and THE ART INSTITUTE. But of course there will be many more. You can find the whole schedule here.

They also developed a new digital strategy which is pretty cool. Next to their social media channels (@NYFW) on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, there will be live streaming of all shows on the website. So no matter where you are on this world you can watch everything you like and don’t have to rely on the picks of the fashion magazines. So stay tuned the upcoming days. You will get my favorite picks next week on the blog.
