I spent the last weekend in Amsterdam and had an awesome time. I went there to see the exhibition “New for Now” at Rijksmuseum. You can read all about the exhibition and my impressions tomorrow in another post. Today is about the outfit I wore on Saturday. It’s always tricky to decide what to wear on a city trip and it’s even harder when you visit a museum. In summer it’s hot outside and even hotter in the big cities, at the same time museums are always air conditioned to conserve the art pieces. When part of my weekend plans is to run around a city all day I need something comfy. I am not the kind a girl who would walk around in uncomfortable shoes and a tight dress. I believe in the right outfit for the right occasion. There is never a good reason to look ugly or feel uncomfortable. So I am very happy I discovered the label of Ioana Ciolacu from Romania. She makes really comfy clothes which are very different and unique in their style. The label is a good example for great fashion that is affordable, comfy and beautiful. I fell in love with her dresses immediately. So I decided her grey Daisy Dress is exactly what I need for my Amsterdam trip. It’s made from a thick jersey fabric which makes it so comfy. Also it’s very light but you still won’t get cold inside a museum in it. As it’s an oversize dress I wore my new chunky heels with it. I think those two are the perfect match. The heels are as comfy as the dress, I could walk miles in them and I did in fact 😉
The only accessorize I took with me was my new black and white clutch from Mango. It’s plain enough to not block the dress and it’s small enough to be allowed in a museum. You always have to think of the size of your bag when it comes to museums. Normally it’s not allowed to carry big bags as they are a potential danger for the shown art. So stay classy and go for a cute clutch or a small handbag like this one.
loana Ciolacu is a Bucharest based fashion house founded in 2010. Creative Director loana Ciolacu ‘s background is in both architecture and arts what I like especially about her. The label explores the relationship between the static nature of buildings and the fluid structure of clothes, turning the brand into an award-winning creator of ready-to-wear. The collections are defined by loana Ciolacu’s signature that blurs the lines between femininity and masculinity, with an emphasis on tailoring, a personal use of materials and custom developed techniques. The clothes are made for every customer after the order in the Romanian studio. There is no fast fashion with Ioana!
